CONSEQUENCES OF A BAR FIGHT IN SOUTH CAROLINA
Most people do not understand the realities of what can truly happen after a bar fight ends. For example, what if while defending yourself, you knock the agressor unconscious, his head hits the floor, and he dies? Well obviously you did not intend to kill the man. But you could be looking at a manslaughter charge, which people can go to prison for. Do you have the right to claim self defense? Of course. But the unfortunate reality is that most likely you still will have to go through the criminal process. Bond hearing, preliminary hearing, roll call dates, and maybe trial. Participants in bar fights can get charged with a variety of offenses. I regularly defend people charged with crimes resulting from incidents either at, or after, leaving bars. If you have been arrested for a crime resulting from a bar fight, feel free to call my office to set up a consultation.
